The 32nd Season of “Music at Incarnate Word”: Themes of Time and Transition

The 2012-13 season of Music at Incarnate Word concluded with beautiful music and liturgy from the Civil War era by guest musicians, Dearest Home, in commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. What a special way to conclude our 32nd season of Music in the City, a year marked by anniversary observances, including a Vespers celebrating the 50th anniversary of Incarnate Word, and Benjamin Britten’s “A Ceremony of Carols” honoring 100 years since the composer’s birth. In between, we were treated to Lieder by the Incarnate Word soloists, Renaissance choral music by VOICES, Easter music from 17th-century Germany by Publick Musick, Bach Aria Vespers for Lent and Lessons and Carols for Advent. What an unforgettable year. Thank you for supporting Music at Incarnate Word!
